Three Cowgirls wrapped up singles and doubles action at the BYU Invitational, on Saturday, in Provo.

"Overall, this was a good first tournament for us," said head coach Dean Clower. "We definitely have a better feel for what we need to be working on. Dorottya had a solid first tournament among others. We will break down video with the team and start improving on some areas of our game."

The doubles team of Dorottya Jonas and Veronica Popovici came away with an 8-4 win over Toby Miclat and Savannah Ware of BYU in the consolations final. In singles action, two Cowgirls took the court in the consolation bracket. Jonas won her semifinal match over Evgenia Marushko of Southern Utah, 6-4, 2-6, 10-6, but lost to Miclat, 7-5, 6-4. The other Cowgirl in action was Silviya Zhelyazkova who fell to Miclat in the semifinals, 6-2, 6-0.

The Cowgirls will return to action next week at the Air Force Invitational, Sept. 27-29, in Colorado Springs.
