WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -P.J. Couisnard's 14 points and 14 rebounds led Wichita State to a 75-63 victory over Wyoming Saturday night.
Along with Couisnard, Matt Braeuer added 17 points for the Shockers (3-2).
Brad Jones led the Cowboys with 22 points.
Wyoming (2-2) led during the early parts of the first half until Wichita State went on a 13-0 run to take a 20-12 lead. The Cowboys never led again.
The Shockers gradually pulled away in the second half, thanks in part to their 3-point shooting. They were 4-for-9 from behind the arc in the second half.
While getting its stride from behind the 3-point line, Wichita State also shut down the Cowboys perimeter shooting.
The Shockers held Wyoming, who made five 3-point shots in the first half, to 0-for-4 from behind the arc in the second half.
Back to back 3-pointers by Couisnard and Braeuer sparked a 12-4 run midway through the second half to get the Wichita State lead to double digits at 59-49.
Wyoming never got closer than seven points away from Wichita State for the rest of the game.
