An Academic All-HCAC in 1987-88, she still ranks among the best in the Cowgirl record book, including first in both assists (573) and steals (279). Lisa (Thompson) Daniels graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1989 with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and went on to teach for four years. She then left the teaching profession to help her sister and brother-in-law start their own business, called Select Contract Services, who she still works for on a part-time basis. With her passion no longer basketball, Lisa spends time with her family enjoying the outdoors. If she is not biking, hiking, camping, or fly-fishing, you will probably find her hunting big game animals. She spent 17 days up in the Arctic Circle in Alaska's bush pursuing moose and caribou, with no shower, phone, or civilization. "It was awesome and The North West Territories in Canada are next. I believe you `work to live' and `not live to work.'" Originally from Golden, Colorado, she now lives in Littleton, Colorado with her husband Keith to whom she has been married for 14 years. In 2001, they were blessed with twin daughters, Kassidi and Kelli.
What affect did playing basketball have on your life?
"It was a life long lesson for me, especially how to be a leader and not a follower. My coaches at the time were very hard on me and other teammates, but in the end they made me who I am today, which is a very strong confident person." "Also, I am very competitive and I believe that if you work hard enough at something you can achieve whatever that is. Never give up even if you keep falling on your face over and over. Every great person failed many times before they ever succeeded. Don't be scared to push yourself and reach for the stars, that what I do today." "Lastly and most importantly, I am a God fearing woman who loves the Lord very much!"
Favorite memory from Wyoming:
"The love the state of Wyoming has for its sports programs at the University. Thank you for all the support throughout my career at Wyoming. If you would like to contact Lisa, her e-mail address is: lisat@therightseletion.com
