LARAMIE, Wyo. -
A record number of endowment scholarships will be awarded for the 2005-06 school year by the Cowboy Joe Club. The announcement was made today by Associate Athletics Director for Development John Stark.
"We are very excited to announce that 36 student-athletes will receive Cowboy Joe Club endowment scholarships for this school year," said Stark. "The number of recipients has grown each of the last six years and that says a lot about our donors and our student-athletes."
The student-athletes who receive these awards will have a portion of their athletic scholarships paid during the 2005-06 school year through the generous contributions and endowments by former Wyoming athletes, coaches, alumni, friends and family of the University of Wyoming. The scholarships are funded by the interest and proceeds from each endowment that has been made through the University of Wyoming Foundation targeted specifically for student-athletes.
