LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Wyoming football fans contributed over $11,000 to the Red Cross of Wyoming's fund for victims of Hurricane Katrina at last Saturday's Cowboy-Louisiana Monroe game.

Red Cross volunteers, student-athletes from Wyoming's 17 teams, and wives of the Cowboy football coaching staff collected donations at each of Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium's six gates prior to the game. Officially, $11,211.48 was donated, according to Kace Sanders, interim CEO of the Red Cross of Wyoming.

"We are thrilled with the outpouring of generosity by Cowboy fans, and the efforts of all the additional volunteers," Sanders said.
