LARAMIE, Wyo. -
The University of Wyoming men's swimming and diving team was recently recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as being a top-25 Academic All-America team.
Academically, the Cowboys were the 25th ranked men's swimming and diving team in the nation with a combined grade point average (GPA) of 3.04. Their GPA is also the second highest in the Mountain West Conference behind BYU, who achieved a team GPA of 3.35.
The top Academic All-America men's team in the nation was Dartmouth College who recorded a team GPA of 3.37. BYU (3.35), Princeton (3.30), Missouri (3.28) and Tennessee (3.28) rounded out the top-five.
The Cowgirl swimming and diving team was also selected as an Academic All-America team as they combined for a team GPA of 3.06.
"I am as pleased with our team's academic accomplishments as I am with our athletic accomplishments last season," said UW swimming and diving coach Tom Johnson. "This is a great honor for our entire team. It is a reward for both our hard work in the classroom as well as in the pool."
