LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Results of an MRI performed on Wyoming safety Jay McNeal indicated a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The Cowboy senior will undergo surgery Tuesday (4/27/04) morning. Dr. Robert Curnow and Dr. Dan Levine of Gem City Bone and Joint will perform the surgery.

McNeal's return to play will be determined following rehabilitation which could take a minimum of six months.

McNeal suffered the injury late in Wyoming's final spring training scrimmage Saturday.
