The University of Wyoming men's golf team will host the Second Annual Wyoming Cowboy Classic on Monday and Tuesday, April 12-13 at the Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
This year's tournament will once again be played at the North Course at Talking Stick. The Talking Stick North Course was named the Top Public Course in the state of Arizona by Golfweek magazine in both 2002 and 2003. Talking Stick was also ranked by Golf magazine as one of the Top 100 Best Courses You Can Play in both 2002 and '03.
In just one year, the Wyoming Cowboy Classic has grown from 11 to 18 teams. The tournament field for the 2004 Wyoming Cowboy Classic is listed below.
The Talking Stick Golf Club was designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. It is located in the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community at 9998 East Indian Bend Road in Scottsdale.Talking Stick opened in January of 1998. Since its opening, it has hosted the PGA Tour Qualifying School in 1998 and '99, and the USGA Sectional Qualifier in '98 and 2002 among numerous other events.
