LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - David Adams canned a 16-footer at the buzzer to liftWyoming to a 61-59 victory over Dayton on Saturday.
It was the Cowboys' only basket in the final 9 minutes, 24 seconds.
Jay Straight led Wyoming (7-4) with 13, while Alex Dunn had 11 and Adamswound up with 10.
The Flyers' Ramod Marshall led all scorers with 24, while Keith Waleskowskihad 13.
Dayton (10-3) fell behind by 19 in the first half, but rallied to tie it onseven straight points by Marshall, including a 12-foot jumper in the lane with2:35 left to make it 59-all.
Dunn missed inside for Wyoming and Keith Waleskowski misfired for Dayton.
David Rottinghaus then was unsuccessful on a 3-point try for Wyoming, butAdams rebounded for the Cowboys, only to see Dunn throw the ball away to theFlyers' Marques Bennett with a minute to go.
Dayton's Mark Jones missed a 3-pointer from the right side with 34 secondsleft and Dunn rebounded, setting up Adams' game-winner near the right side ofthe free throw line.
Wyoming led 59-43 with 9:24 left on a basket by Dunn, then went cold untilAdams' final shot.
Wyoming held Dayton to eight points over the final nine minutes of the firsthalf and led 39-23 at the break.
Dayton endured a 16-hour odyssey to reach Laramie. The team's flight fromDayton was canceled due to fog in Chicago, forcing a bus trip to Cincinnati tocatch another plane. The Flyers arrived in Laramie at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, 6?hours behind schedule.
