Cowboys Compete at Oregon Duck Invitational This Monday and Tuesday:Eugene, Ore., is the location of this week's competition for the WyomingCowboys. UW will compete in the 2001 University of Oregon Duck Invitationalon Monday and Tuesday, March 26 and 27.
Monday's format will be 36 holes beginning at 8 a.m. Pacific time (9a.m., Mountain time). Tuesday will see the final 18-hole round tee off at 8a.m. Pacific, as well. The tournament is being played at the Eugene CountryClub, which measures 6,847 yards and plays to a par of 72.
The tournament field will include 13 varsity teams from the westernUnited States, as well as three junior varsity squads. Five teams willenter the tournament with national rankings. The teams competing, alongwith their national rankings are:

Washington is the defending champion. The Huskies edged host Oregonby one stroke a year ago -- 857 to 858. Wyoming placed seventh out of 15teams at last year's Oregon Duck. The Cowboys shot a 54-hole total of 887.
Individually, Anthony Arvidson of Oregon State returns to defend histitle from a year ago.
Wyoming's David Hearn finished fifth a year ago in the DuckInvitational. Hearn is still suffering from an injured wrist andmay not play again this week. He had to withdraw from the Cowboys firstspring tournament in Gulfport, Miss., on Feb. 12-13, and he didn't make thetrip to the Pokes most recent tournament -- the Hawaii John BurnsIntercollegiate on Feb. 21-23.
