This Week: The Cowgirls will finish up the regular season at home thisweek. They will host UNLV on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m., and San DiegoState on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
About UNLV: The Cowgirls will host the UNLV Rebels on Thursday night.The Rebels are currently 17-7 overall and 7-5 in the conference. Theyare led by junior Linda Frolich, who is averaging 19 points and 9.2rebounds per contest. As a team, they are shooting 45% from the fieldand 35% from beyond the arc. This is the 12th meeting between the twoteams, UNLV leads the series 7-4. The last time these two teams met wasFeb. 3, 2001 in Las Vegas with the Rebels coming out on top, 69-61. TheRebels are coached by Regina Miller, who is in her third season.
About San Diego State: The Cowgirls will close out the weekend againstthe San Diego State Aztecs. The Aztecs are currently 13-12 overall and5-7 in conference play. Sophomore guard Jamey Cox is averaging 10.8points to lead the team. They are averaging 42% from the field and 60.1points per game. This is the 19th meeting between the two schools, SanDiego State leads 13-5. The last time these two teams met was Feb. 1,2001 in San Diego, with the Aztecs coming out on top, 58-50. San DiegoState is coached by Barb Smith, who is in her fourth season.
