Josh Davis scored 20 points as Wyoming returned to thetop of the Mountain West Conference with an 81-61 win over New Mexico onMonday.
The victory gave the Cowboys (18-7, 9-3 Mountain West) a 50-50 share offirst alongside Utah (17-9, 9-3), which briefly stood alone at No. 1 afterbeating BYU 82-75 on Saturday.
Brigham Young had also claimed a share of first.
New Mexico (17-9, 6-6) never got ahead during Wyoming's last home game ofthe season. The best the Lobos did was a tie about midway through the firstperiod.
In the second period, the Cowboys led by no fewer than nine and by as muchas 24, when a 3-pointer by Chris McMillian put Wyoming up 77-53.
McMillian finished with 18 points, followed by 12 from Brett McFall and 11by Uche Nsonwu-Amadi. For the Lobos, Marlon Parmer scored 15 points, WaylandWhite had 13, Tim Lightfoot 12 and Ruben Douglas 10.
Wyoming led 47-32 after dominating most of the first half.
The Cowboys got off to an early lead, which Lobos chipped away to a 17-17tie on baskets by Eric Chatfield and Lightfoot, then a free throw by Lightfoot.
Wyoming then launched a 11-0 run on a basket and 3-pointer by McMillian.McFall and Ugo Udezue followed with two more 3-pointers to give the Cowboys a31-19 lead.
