LARAMIE, Wyo. -

Wyoming sophomore Damian Storz wonthree events Friday in Salt Lake City, Utah, leading the Cowboy swimmingand diving team to a 138.5-102.5 victory over Mountain West Conferenceopponent Utah. The win improved the Pokes' overall season record to4-1, 1-0 in conference.

Storz took top honors in the 1000 free (9:53.56) the 200 IM (1:55.98)and the 500 free (4:48.54).

Junior Guy Fulfer won two events against the Utes, winning the 200 free(1:45.24) and the 100 free (47.38). Sophomore Jake Weidert earned anindividual victory in the 200 fly with a time of 1:55.79.

Jason Garman picked up two second-place finishes in the 50 free and the100 free. Per Malmberg also had a couple of second-place showings inthe 1000 free and the 500 free.

The Cowgirls just edged Utah, winning their dual meet by a score of122-115, despite only winning five of 13 events. The victory gives thewomen's team a perfect 5-0 season record, 1-0 in the MWC.

Sophomore Mabry Fiddler won both the 1000 free (10:34.00) and the 500free (5:14.01). Fiddler also placed second in the 200 IM.

Sophomore Angie Sax took first in the 200 fly with a time of 2:07.19,finishing nearly three seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.Senior Wendy O'Connell won the three-meter springboard with a score of260.47, and placed second on the one-meter. Wyoming also won the 400medley relay.

Darcrea Corey, Crystal Mecham, Jody Riskowski and Allison Schmid allhad second-place finishes for the Cowgirls.

"I was extremely pleased with our performances today," said Wyominghead coach Tom Johnson. "Everyone was very tired from the six hour bustrip and we have a lot of ill athletes. However, we managed to keep ittogether and we stepped it up and got a couple of wins.

"It was a very grueling, long day today but we'll need to regroup andget ready for BYU tomorrow." Johnson said.

Wyoming's men's and women's teams will dual against BYU on Saturday inProvo, Utah.
