LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - LeDarion Jones scored 25 points as Wyoming upset Utah88-61 on Monday for its fifth win in a row.
The Utes (20-7, 9-4 Mountain West) were ranked until a loss at ColoradoState on Saturday bumped them from No. 25.
Against the Cowboys (18-10, 8-5 Mountain West), they fell behind early andmanaged to lead only briefly, in the first half.
Wyoming's widest lead of 77-46 came on a 3-pointer by Bradley Mann with 7:45left in the game, capping a 12-3 Cowboys run.
But it was Josh Davis' slam dunk that brought the crowd to its feet afterWyoming began the second half by outscoring Utah 20-6.
The Cowboys also dominated the first half, expanding their lead to 17-12 ona runaway layup by Chris McMillian in the opening minutes.
The Utes tied the game at 17 on a 3-pointer by Phil Cullin and a basket byTony Harvey, then scraped ahead 21-19 on 4-of-4 free throws by Hanno Mottola.
But Wyoming struck back, with a Brett McFall steal and basket followed byfour Cowboys 3-pointers.
The crowd reached a frenzy on a Jones slam dunk and the gap widened to 41-24with Bailey's basket from underneath, and Wyoming kept the pressure on to lead45-31 at the half.
Utah was led by Mottola with 19 points, but had no one else indouble-digits. Jeremy Killion scored nine points and Alex Jensen eight.
For the Cowboys, Davis added 16 points, followed by McMillian (15) andAnthony Blakes (10).
