EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - A.D. Smith and Terik Brown each scored 22 points asOregon defeated Wyoming 93-72 in a second-round game of the NIT on Mondaynight.
The Ducks (18-11) will play Texas Christian in the quarterfinals eitherWednesday or Friday. TCU beat Nebraska 101-89 Monday night.
Oregon led by 21 at the half and quickly stretched it to 26 on a 3-pointerby Terik Brown with 17:46 left. Wyoming didn't get closer than 19 the rest ofthe way. Oregon's biggest lead was 35 after a bank shot by reserve center ChrisChristofferson made it 84-49 with 6:33 left.
Anthony Blakes scored 17 for the Cowboys (18-10). Ugo Udezue, Wyoming'sleading scorer at 20.8, was held to 13 points on 4-of-15 shooting. He alsomissed 10 of 15 free throws.
The Cowboys shot just 36 percent, and 28 percent in the first half as Oregontook a 51-30 lead. Smith had 19 and Brown had 12 in the Ducks' highest-scoringhalf of the season.
Udezue missed all nine of his shots in the half, including three layups. Allthat kept the game from becoming a complete embarrassment for the Cowboys wasBlakes' 14 points.
The Ducks jumped to a 25-9 lead on Smith's tip-in with 11:35 left in thehalf. Oregon made six of nine 3-pointers, the last coming from Yasir Rosemondto make it 43-21 with 5:17 to go.
Oregon dominated the smaller Cowboys on the boards, 32-14 in the half and57-31 for the game. Smith had 13 rebounds for the Ducks, and Alex Scales had11.
