In their second game of the weekend the Cowgirls were defeated by the Rice Owls, 57-44, on Saturday, February 6, in Houston, Texas.
The Cowgirls were led by freshman forward Carrie Bacon, who had a team high 19 points and five rebounds. Bacon was 8 of 19 in 37 minutes on the night. Senior forward Jenny Lazzeri added five points and a team high ten rebounds in 32 minutes of play.
As has been the case for most of the season the Cowgirls were plagued by turnovers, giving the ball up 23 times, compared to Rice's 13 turnovers.
The Cowgirls are now 6-14 overall, and 2-7 in the conference heading into this week's home games versus TCU and SMU.
