The University of Wyoming Cowgirl basketball team ran into a hot-shooting University of Denver team on Wednesday night, and dropped a 87-63 game to the Pioneers in Denver.
The Pioneers shot 58% from the field and had double-digit scoring from all five of their starters. Melissa Garcia led DU in scoring with 20 points.
DU opened the game with a 13-0 run and never looked back on their way to improving their record to 11-14. The loss by Wyoming dropped their record to 6-17 overall, 2-9 in WAC play.
UW was led in scoring by Shelby Hoffman, who had 20 points, and by Rebecca Tomlin who scored 17.
Wyoming had defeated Denver earlier this season in Laramie, 60-56.
