In their second game of the week, the University of Wyoming women's basketball team was defeated by the #4 nationally ranked Colorado State Rams, 101-68.
The win by CSU, on Saturday, Feb. 20 in Ft. Collins, Colorado, gave them a 27-1 overall record, 12-0 in the WAC.
The Cowgirls were led by sophomore guard Shelby Hoffman, who had a team high 24 points and three rebounds. Hoffman was 6 of 13 from the field and 7 of 7 from the free throw line in 34 minutes on the night. Freshman forward Carrie Bacon added 18 points and a team high seven rebounds on the night.
The Rams were led by senior guard Becky Hammon, who had a team high 36 points and six assists. Senior forward Katie Cronin had 25 points and a team high 12 rebounds.
The Cowgirls are now 6-18 overall, and 2-10 in the conference heading into this week's games against Air Force and UNLV.
