In their final game of the season, the University of Wyoming women's basketball team was defeated by the UNLV Lady Rebels, 79-74, Saturday night in Las Vegas.
The loss gives UW a final season record of 7-19 overall, 3-11 in WAC play. UNLV finishes their regular season 16-10 overall, 7-7 in the conference.
The Cowgirls were led by freshman forward Carrie Bacon, who had a team high 25 points and six rebounds. Bacon was 10 of 20 from the field in 40 minutes of play. Sophomore guard Shelby Hoffman added 22 points and a team high seven steals on the night. Hoffman was 6 of 13 from the three point line.
The Lady Rebels were led by freshman guard Linda Froehlich, who had a team high 23 points and ten rebounds. Senior forward Liz Wolfe added 17 points and a team high 12 rebounds.
