The Cowgirls went 1-1 over a three-day span, January 2-4, as they defeated the Southwest State Mustangs by the final of 90-60, and lost to Nevada, 70-56.
Against SW State, Wyoming was led by freshman forward Carrie Bacon, who had a team high 21 points and nine rebounds. Senior forward Jenny Lazzeri had a double-double with 14 points and a career and season high 13 rebounds. Lazzeri was six of eight from the field in 26 minutes of play. Also, sophomore forward Shelby Hoffman had a career high 20 points in the victory. The Cowgirls had their highest scoring output of the season shooting 46% for the game and 38% from the three-point line.

In the second game of the weekend, the Cowgirls were defeated by the University of Nevada-Reno, 70-56. The Cowgirls were led by freshman forward Carrie Bacon, who had 13 points and five rebounds. Senior center Rebecca Tomlin and freshman guard Molly Marso added 12 points, two and five rebounds respectively. Wyoming shot 45% from the field and 31% from the three-point line. Once again, turnovers plagued the Cowgirls as they committed 27 for the game. They are now 4-7 heading into this week's games against Rice and Tulsa.
