Laramie, Wyo. (Nov.
17, 2016) – With the Holiday season approaching, the University of
Wyoming Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and the Laramie Detachment
#777 of the Marine Corps League will team up to collect Toys For Tots at
four separate UW Athletic events this Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19 and
20. New unwrapped toys, checks or cash may be donated.
Toys For Tots collection
will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday with a booth located at Tailgate Alley in the
Ford Stadium Lot on the northeast side of War Memorial Stadium. There
will also be collection points at the gates entering the stadium.
Saturday’s football game versus San Diego State is scheduled to kick off at
1:30 p.m. SAAC members will also be collecting in the Arena-Auditorium
leading up to the tip off of the men’s basketball game against South Dakota
State at 7 p.m.
On Sunday, fans may
donate at the women’s basketball game vs. Cal State Fullerton that tips off at
1 p.m. in the Arena-Auditorium and at the wrestling match vs. Nebraska at 3:30
p.m. in the UniWyo Sports Complex.
Toys For Tots is
a program that has been coordinated for years by the United States Marine Corps
Reserve. All toys donated at this week’s games will remain in Albany
County.
Toys donated need to be
new and unwrapped. Financial donations may also be made by cash or
check. Checks may be made out to: Marine Toys For Tots
Foundation.
Last year, Toys For
Tots raised over $4,000 for families in Albany County.
