LARAMIE,
Wyo. – Wyoming
soccer’s Laurel Ramer has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District VII
First Team, announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of
America. The honor is the third of Ramer's career, as she was among 11
student-athletes selected to the District VII First Team. She now moves on to
the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, which will be chosen later this
month.
A native of Kasson,
Minn., Ramer is currently a Pharmacy student with a 4.00 grade-point average. The
senior forward has been an offensive threat for the Cowgirls during her career,
with seven goals and five assists in 64 total appearances. In 2015, she played in
17 games with 12 starts, notched two goals and two assists, and earned Mountain
West Academic All-Conference and MW Conference Scholar Athlete honors for the third-consecutive
year.
To earn
Academic All-District soccer honors a student-athlete must have a cumulative
3.30 GPA, be at least a sophomore athletically, have competed in 50 percent of her
team's competitions and completed a full calendar year at her respective institution.
Earning Academic All-District honors moves the student-athlete to the ballot
for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. CoSIDA District VII is comprised of
schools from nine states including Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New
Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and Wyoming.
Ramer and six
other seniors will be honored tomorrow for senior day, in the Border War
matchup with Colorado State. The presentation is slated for 2:40 before a 3
p.m. MT kick-off.
