FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) -- Wyoming (5-7, 2-5 MWC) fell short in the Border War 36-28, ending the Cowboys' 2007 campaign.
Wyoming's Karsten Sween completed 20 of 33 passes for 204 yards, and Devin Moore ran for 76 yards and a touchdown. Wynel Seldon added 21 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
The Cowboys used a gimmick play to set up their first score. Greg Bolling took a lateral from Sween and then passed to a wide-open Hoost Marsh, who took the ball to the Wyoming 9. Two plays later, Moore ran it into the end zone from the 1 and the Cowboys had a 7-3 lead.
The Rams led 27-14 after Smith kicked a field goal and Johnson rushed for a touchdown. But Wyoming reclaimed the lead when Moore ran a kickoff off back 98 yards for a touchdown and Sheldon scored another TD on a 2-yard run.
Michael Myers gave Colorado State the lead back for good with his 18-yard score. A 2-point conversion attempt failed and the Rams led 33-28.
Wyoming was driving when Sween coughed up the ball on a John Clark hit with 5:01 left. Jesse Nading recovered for the Rams at midfield.
Smith sealed the game with a 39-yard field goal with 2:14 left.
