UW Soccer Adds Nine Signees

LARAMIE, Wyo. – The University of Wyoming soccer program is proud to announce the signing of nine student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2018 season. The 2018 class consists of nine incoming freshmen from Wyoming, Colorado, Nevada and California.

"We're excited to announce our class of 2018 and look forward to seeing how they can contribute to our winning tradition here at Wyoming," UW head coach Pete Cuadrado said. "This group consists of some of the top talent in the region and adds considerable depth to our team at every position. Each student-athlete already has a history of success at the high school or club level, both on the field and in the classroom."

Kendall Bowdish | Midfielder | Cypress, Calif. | Cypress High School
 
Bowdish is a three-year letterwinner at Cypress High School under head coach Nicole Woiemberghe. She captained her team during her senior season, leading them to a second-consecutive Empire League Championship. Bowdish also had a successful club career as a four-year member of the CDA Slammers. The Slammers were 2017 National Cup Finalists, California Regional champions, as well as champions of the Albion Showcase and Legends Showcase.
 
Bowdish is the daughter of Brad and Edith Bowdish. She has one sister, Reagan. She plans on majoring in Kinesiology and intends to become a sports trainer or professional soccer player.
 
Remi Clarke | Defender | Loveland, Colo. | Fossil Ridge High School
 
Clarke is a three-year letterwinner under head coach Ian Wale. Clarke was named Second Team All-Conference in 2015 and First Team All-Conference, as well as All-State, in 2016. She has also played five years of club soccer for the Colorado Rush. In 2017, the Rush were North American Cup National Champions.
 
Remi is the daughter of Shannon and Monik Clarke. She has been a member of the honor roll and National Honor Society in each of her four years at Fossil Ridge, as well as a three-year member of the Math National Honor Society. She plans on majoring in physiology and pursuing a career in endocrinology.
 
Alexandra Daws | Goalkeeper | Highlands Ranch, Colo. | Valor Christian High School
 
Daws is a four-year letterwinner at Valor Christian High School under head coach Brian Shultz. Daws is a three-time All-League selection, including first-team honors her freshman season. The Eagles were State Runners-Up in 2016 and State Semi-Finalists and League Champions in 2017. Daws was named an All-State goalkeeper by the Colorado High School Coaches Association in 2016 and 2017, and is a team captain for the 2018 season. Daws played club soccer as a member of the Colorado Rush Academy. In 2015, Daws led the Rush to a State Cup championship, and was named the State Cup MVP. She joins fellow Valor Christian alum, freshman Grace Collins.
 
Alexandra is the daughter of Christopher and Rachel Daws. She has three siblings, Andrew, Addison and Anna. She was a First-Team Academic All-State selection in 2017 and Valor Cum Laude. Daws is a two-time Valor Sports Network student of the year and Excellence in Valor Sports Network award winner. She is also a final four nominee in Valor Excellence in visual arts in 2017, and served as the hockey team's videographer in 2017 and 2018. She intends to major in Biology.
 
Hannah Lee | Goalkeeper | Las Vegas, Nev. | Bishop Gorman High School
 
Lee is a two-year letterwinner at Bishop Gorman High School under head coach Doug Borgel. She was named Bishop Gorman Rookie of the Year her freshman season, and also received Division I Honors for the All-Southwest League and All-Sunset Region. Lee led her team to a Southwest League Championship in 2014. In her senior season, Lee was named MVP of the Sunset Regional Championship, Bishop Gorman Defensive MVP, and Las Vegas Review Journal's All-State First Team. Lee played three seasons of club soccer of Heat FC in the ECNL. The heat were ECNL Playoffs Champions League qualifiers in 2016 and 2017, and San Diego Surf College Cup Champions in 2017.
 
Hannah is the daughter of Devin and Daphne Lee. She has two siblings, Evan and Sydney. Lee is a three-year member of the National Honor Society, serving as President 2017-18, and a four-year Honor Roll member. She intends to major in kinesiology.
 
Sekoya Romero | Forward | Laramie, Wyo. | Laramie High School
 
Romero is a three-sport letterwinner at Laramie High School. She lettered in soccer her sophomore season under head coach Kimberly Whisenant. She also lettered twice in basketball and once in volleyball. In her sophomore season, she led Laramie to conference and state championships, as well as a second-place finish at regionals, while making the all-conference and all-state teams. Romero also was named Offensive MVP her sophomore season and served as team captain in her junior campaign. Romero also played three years of club soccer for the Colorado Storm FC. She joins fellow Laramie High School alum, freshman Madison Barrick.
 
Sekoya is the daughter of Samson and Kerri Romero. She has one sister, Ariel. Romero is a four-year member of the honor roll and was a member of National Honors Society her senior year. She intends on majoring in pharmacy.
 
Kennedy Schomer | Midfielder/Forward | Gillette, Wyo. Campbell County HS
 
Schomer is a four-year letterwinner from Campbell County High School. She is a two-time all-conference selection and was named to the all-state team last season. Schomer led the Camels to a 4A state championship in 2017 after a second-place finish in 2016. Schomer was named the Offensive MVP by her team in her freshman and sophomore seasons. She also played 10 years of club soccer for the Gillette Edge. In 2017, the Edge were champions of the Las Vegas Mayor's Cup. She joins fellow Campbell County alum, freshman Molly Kuhbacher.
 
Kennedy is the daughter of Jeff and Christy Schomer. She has four siblings, Brittany, Destiny, Macy and Presley. Schomer is a four-year member of Student Council, and was Vice President her sophomore year. She is also a DARE role model and President of the National Junior Honor Society. She intends to major in Education and wants to be an art teacher.
 
Jamie Tatum | Midfielder | Highlands Ranch, Colo. | Rock Canyon High School
 
Tatum is a four-year letterwinner at Rock Canyon High School under head coach Mat Henbest. She was named Offensive Player of the Year in 2016 and Second Team All-Conference in 2017. Tatum also played club soccer for Real Colorado of the ECNL for 14 years. Real Colorado were State Cup Quarter Finalists in 2016. Tatum is also a three-star recruit according to TopDrawerSoccer.
 
Jamie is the daughter of Jim Tatum and Laura Posey. She has two brothers, Trevor and Derek. Her father, Jim, played Major League Baseball from 1992-1998 for the Milwaukee Brewers, Colorado Rockies, Boston Red Sox, San Diego Padres and New York Mets. Tatum has been a member of Rock Canyon's honor roll in each of her semesters, along with National Honor Society and Student Council. She was also named to the Academic All-Conference team in her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons. She intends to major in nursing.
 
Adalyn Vergara | Midfielder | Greeley, Colo. | Windsor High School
 
Vergara was a successful dual-sport athlete at Windsor High School, earned four letters in soccer and three in basketball. Vergara was selected as the Newcomer of the Year her freshman season, and was a team captain her junior and senior seasons. She received All-Conference Honorable Mention her freshman season and was a First Team selection her sophomore campaign. Vergara was named First Team All-State by the Colorado High School Soccer Coaches Association and Second Team All-State by the Colorado High School Athletic Association. She was selected as the team MVP her sophomore season and was also named the Tri-Valley Conference Player of the Year. The Windsor Wizards have won the Tri-Valley League Championship in each of the last three seasons, amassing a 51-6 record with Vergara on the team. She was also a two-team All-Conference Honorable Mention selection in basketball. As a two-year club player for the Arsenal Colorado Academy, she led the team to Colorado State Cup championships in 2016 and 2017. Arsenal were also US Youth Soccer Region IV champions in 2017 and US Youth Soccer National Finalists.
 
Adalyn is the daughter of Mike and Gabri Vergara. She has one brother, Addison. Vergara is a two-year member of the National Honor Society. Her sophomore year, she won the Rotary Youth Leadership Award and the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Award. Vergara also served as Parliamentarian of Future Farmers of America her junior year and as Reporter her senior year. She intends to major in Wildlife & Fisheries Biology and Management, and wants to be a wildlife biologist.
 
Savannah Warner | Defender | Fort Collins, Colo.  | Rocky Mountain High School
 
Warner is a four-year letterwinner at Rocky Mountain High School under head coach Ron Clark. She also earned a varsity letter in basketball in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Warner led her team to All-City championships in 2015 and 2016, as well as a conference championship in 2016. She was a First Team All-Conference selection in 2017, following an Honorable Mention selection in 2016. Warner was also named the team's Defensive MVP in 2017. She also played club soccer for the Storm in the ECNL. Storm FC were three-time state finalists during Warner's time with the club, and also ECNL regional qualifiers in 2017. The Storm placed fourth at nationals in 2017.
 
Savannah is the daughter of Daniel and Michele Warner. She has three sisters, Sierra, Alexandra and Chloe. Her father, Daniel, played soccer at Air Force. Warner was a First Team Academic All-State selection in basketball and soccer 2016-17. She was also a member of the National Honor Society 2016-18 and the National Art Honor Society 2017-18. She plans on studying pre-med and intends to pursue a career as a physician's assistant.
