Ask the Cowboys: Dan Starzinski
Leading up to the start of Wyoming men’s golf’s 2017 spring season, our ‘Ask the Cowboys’ series will include features on each member of the team. The fourth installment is an interview with redshirt-freshman Dan Starzinski, a native of Phoenix, Ariz.

Hats or visors?
I get sunburnt so easily that I can’t risk wearing a visor and scalding my head. Hats all the way, and I’ll throw in a bucket hat every now and then in the summer.

What is your favorite ball marker?
It’s from Gleneagles golf course in Scotland, where they played the 2014 Ryder Cup. My high school coach gave it to me, so I’ve used it ever since.

What is your favorite restaurant?
When I’m with my parents, Sushi Style. In college, Taco Bell.

What TV show are you currently binge watching on Netflix?
Parks and Recreation, and The Office (for the third time).

If you were to play any other sport what would it be?
Football. I would’ve loved to play quarterback for the Pokes.

What is your favorite golf moment?
In high school, my senior year, the whole team stormed the 18th green after we won the state championship. Hopefully we can recreate that moment for a conference championship.

What is your favorite club in your bag?
Putter. I got her not too long ago, it was love at first sight.

What course do you enjoy playing the most?
Moon Valley Country Club. It’s my home course, and I like playing there so much because all my childhood golf friends still play there. It’s really fun to play and practice with your buddies every day.

What is at the top of your bucket list?
Take a trip to Augusta, Georgia to watch The Masters.

Who is the funniest person on the team?
I feel like we are all pretty funny. Everyone has their own style of humor, and it’s all great! At team dinners or practice, everyone is cracking jokes and laughing.

Who is your celebrity crush?
Man-crush: Rory McIlroy
Woman-crush: Blake Lively

‘Ask the Cowboys’ will continue tomorrow, featuring an interview with junior Quintin Pope.
