After a 56-day break from competition the University of Wyoming swimming and diving teams return to the pool this Saturday as UW heads to Denver University to take on the Pioneers. Action is set to begin in the El Pomar Natatorium at noon. The Cowboys and Cowgirls swimmers won 11 of the 23 events at DU Relays earlier this season with both teams taking home team titles.

UW looks to improve its times during the stretch run to the Mountain West and Western Athletic Conference Championships. The Cowboys are paced by junior Adam Kalms, as he has the best times in the WAC in the 100 freestyle with a time of 43.82 and the 200 freestyle at 1:35.23. Senior diver Derek Campbell is atop the WAC in 3-meter springboard with a score of 379.65.

The Cowgirls have been led all season long by veteran swimmer Morgan Hartigan. She leads the Mountain West in 100 backstroke with a time of 52.98. The senior also leads the MW in 200 individual medley at 1:59.34. In her last action Hartigan opened duals against New Mexico, Nevada and Grand Canyon with an impressive win in the 100 backstroke with a time of 53.48, which is the second-fastest mark in school history.

Denver comes into Saturday afternoon's duals ranked third on the women's side and fourth on the men's side in the CollegeSwimming.com mid-major mid-season rankings. The Pioneers are also in action on Friday evening as Denver takes on BYU and New Mexico.

After heading to Denver on Saturday the Cowgirls return home next Saturday at noon to take on Border War rival Colorado State in Corbett Pool.
