Four University of Wyoming track student-athletes etched their name in the Wyoming record books Saturday as the Cowboys and Cowgirls completed the Air Force Team Challenge.
In the team scoring, the UW women were fifth out of nine schools with 51 points, while the men finished sixth out of eight teams with 48 points.
Sophomore Andrea Klimowski's performance in the 1-mile run put her on UW's all-time list. Klimowski's time, converted for altitude, was 5:05.78, good for 10th all-time for the Cowgirls. Klimowski was seventh in the race.
Sophomore Jenna Mann's time in the 60-meter hurdles put her ninth on all-time list, with a mark of 8.86 seconds. She finished seventh overall in the event.
Freshman Samantha Kee was fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.11 seconds, and sophomore Candace Wollert was fifth in the 400-meter dash, crossing the line at 57.36.
Junior Olivia Heaston won the 800-meter run with an altitude-converted time of 2:18.14, while sophomore Natalie Hurst was fourth in the same event with a time of 2:23.52.
Junior Erin Urbanoski was 14th in the long jump (16 feet, 10 ½ inches); and sophomore Emily Moore was fifth in the triple jump (36-5 ½.)
Senior Ashley Hutchinson and junior Mollie Dahl finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the shot put. Hutchinson threw 45-10, while Dahl hit a mark of 45-5 ¾. Freshman Shreese Daniels wasn't far behind, coming in eighth (44-7 ½.) Junior Anna George was sixth in the weight throw, 53-7 ½.
Junior Lenyn Leonce's time in the 60-meter dash of 6.94 seconds put him 10th on the all-time list for the men. He was fifth in the event overall. Leonce also raced to a time of 22.18 seconds in the 200-meter dash, good for 10th all-time. He was 11th overall.
Freshman Colin Herold crossed the line in 8.39 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles, along with teammate Michael Tasker, a junior. Herold earned a place on the top-10 all-time list with his time, tied for eighth. Tasker already is second on that list. The duo tied for fourth in that event.
Sophomore Caleb Her Many Horses was seventh in the 800 (1:55.58), and fifth in the 1-mile run (4:12.21.)
Junior Tyler Skinner finished seventh in the high jump, clearing the bar at 6-6 ¾. Junior Jaymes Talkington was fifth in the long jump (21-11) and seventh in the triple jump (46-11 ½.)
Senior Joe Plante won the weight throw with a toss of 61-3, and sophomore Dalton Sybrant finished second after he hit a personal-best mark of 59-0 in the same event.
"That was pretty good for our first meet (in 2012)," Wyoming coach Don Yentes said. "We didn't have half our team running in our main events, but I saw some pretty pleasing things. We got through unscathed (as far as injuries) so I'm pretty pleased with that. It was a solid effort and the kids could tell that they were close."
The UW track teams will compete again in the Husker Invitational in Lincoln, Neb., starting on Friday.
