Wyoming Cowboy golfer Gabe Maier concluded his first round and played his second round on Friday of the 2011 NCAA Regional Golf Championship in Erie, Colo. Maier concluded his rain shortened first round on Friday morning with a one-over 73 which put him in a tie for 36th place. He also played his second round on Friday afternoon making a run at the leaders after shooting a four-under 68 which tied him for 11th place.

"Gabe played really well today," Wyoming Director of Golf Joe Jensen said. "He has handled the stops and the starts well these last couple days. I think what really helped him today was he was patient. He started with a string of pars and just let his game come to him. He is in position to make a run at the leaderboard tomorrow. I just want him to go out and play solid tomorrow."

After rain and lighting shortened his day on Thursday, Cowboy Gabe Maier completed his first round of play this morning. He began his day on the 13th green at one-over par and completed his round without gaining or losing a stroke finishing the first round with a 73 (+1) which tied him for 36th place.
