Aimee Stinson and Eli Bell Named MWC Swimmers of the Week

LARAMIE, Wyo. - University of Wyoming junior swimmers Aimee Stinson and Eli Bell were selected as the Mountain West Conference's Swimmers of the Week on Thursday.

Stinson, a native of Colorado Springs, Colo., won all four events she competed in at the Early Bird Invite in Fort Collins, Colo. last Saturday. Individually, she won the 200 freestyle (1:53.33) and 1650 freestyle (17:46.76). In relay action, she anchored the first place 400 freestyle relay team (3:34.12) and led off the first place 800 free quartet (7:47.18). Stinson's 200 free clocking is the second-best in the league this season.

Bell, a Greeley, Colo. product, won two individual events and helped the Cowboy relay squads to a first and second place finish at the Early Bird Invite. He won the 100 freestyle in 46.80 and clocked a time of 1:42.85 in the 200 freestyle. His time in the 200 free is the second best in the MWC this season, while his 100 free time ranks third in the conference. In relay action, he led off for the first-place 400 freestyle squad that turned in a time of 3:08.55 and helped the 800 freestyle team finish second (7:01.81).
