PURCHASE, N.Y. -
Bresnan Communications and the mtn. (Mountain West Sports Network) are teaming up to deliver the full action and excitement of University of Wyoming and Mountain West Conference (MWC) athletics to fans in Wyoming, Colorado and Utah when the new network launches. The network will be available on channel 412 on Bresnan Digital Cable in Wyoming and Colorado, and on Bresnan Expanded Basic service in Utah. The announcement was made today by Steve Brookstein, Bresnan Communications Executive Vice President of Operations and Jack Williams, President and CEO of Comcast SportsNet.
"We are very excited to be carrying the mtn. network," said Brookstein. "Providing programming important to our customers is a priority for us. At this time we are working very hard to ensure that the mtn. will be accessible to our customers and anticipate the channel will be available by the first of September."
Williams said, "We are thrilled to partner with Bresnan to deliver comprehensive coverage of University of Wyoming and Mountain West Conference athletics. Bresnan's strong presence in Wyoming means that Cowboy fans will be able to follow the players, action and spirit of their team like never before."
The mtn. launches on Friday, Sept. 1 at 7 p.m. MT. The network will broadcast a football double-header on Saturday, Sept. 2, featuring Weber State at Colorado State (3 p.m. MT) and Portland State at New Mexico (6:30 p.m. MT). The first of five Wyoming football games to appear on the mtn. will be Saturday, Sept. 16 when Boise State visits War Memorial Stadium in Laramie.
The mtn. will give fans access to more University of Wyoming and MWC athletics than has ever been offered before, across 19 different conference sports including at least 30 football games, 75 men's basketball games and women's basketball games, conference championships, and men's and women's Olympic sports, such as volleyball, swimming and diving, women's soccer, and tennis. The mtn. will also carry press conferences, coaches' shows, pep rallies, and feature stories on student-athletes and coaches. Other programming will tap into local sports culture. CSTV, which supplements the mtn.'s coverage of MWC athletics, is currently available in these systems.
The network is owned by Comcast SportsNet and CSTV, and managed by Comcast SportsNet.
