UW Swimming Set to Compete at DU Relays
LARAMIE, Wyo. – Wyoming men’s and women’s swimming will
see competition for the first time in the 2016-17 season on Saturday at the DU
Relays. The full day of relay events will begin at 12 p.m. MT at the El Pomar
Natatorium in Denver, Colo.
Wyoming will compete against Denver and
Northern Colorado in 12 different relay events. Four freestyle relays, four
medley relays, an underwater relay and one relay each in the breaststroke,
backstroke and butterfly.
“This weekend is a fun meet and it’s

lot. Some of them will swim upwards of six or seven races. It’s usually a

Swimmers will be allowed to compete in an
unlimited number of races.
“I love the relays. Since it’s
all relay events, it’s much more of a team atmosphere,” UW junior swimmer Ryan Ball said. “All through the preseason we’ve been doing endurance work, getting
strong and getting in shape. We’ve been working on a lot of technical things,
and after the Brown and Gold Meet we found some other things we can get better
